Week 1 sees the discussion focus on the successful international advertising campaign of Sagatiba "The Pure Spirit of Brazil."
This alcoholic drink was introduced to the world through a classy iconic imagery of "Christ the Redeemer" otherwise know as "The Jesus Statue", situated high above Rio.
Billboards and static images supported this campaign as shown above.

Bundaberg Rum, xxxx Gold and Tooheys New beer have all run recent successful ad campaigns, through print and moving picture. Alcohol remains quite a competitive market with a lot of cashflow and consumer choice.
ReplyDeleteSuccessful examples of companies introducing new products and creating contemporary target markets through image based marketing include Apple (ipod, iphone), Sony (bravia tv, alpha series camera), Burgen (bread), Nintendo (wii), MBF Health Fund (singles cover) and Coca Cola (Amatil) continues to associate positively with the young adult population. The list goes on across a range of markets but the popular medium of television may see a significant drop off in commercial subscription over the next year, at least in terms of quality new material.
As economic rationalisation increases, the budgets for advertising will inevitably shrink, inviting cleverness and creativity over big budget, technically complicated productions. Companies looking for more bang for their buck may well look to an increase in static advertising based on photo imagery. New trends maybe ? --owyn--
I think this may well be a new trend in advertising. Static images can be far more impactfull to the viewer.--michelle.s--
ReplyDeleteGreat concept for Sagatiba, especially using such an well known landmark in Brazil. The background environment certainly suit the product. Is that HDR they've used?
ReplyDeleteI think this campaign works really well. It's so clever and quite different to anything else out there at the moment. Placing the well known statue of Brazil in a modern world makes the advert more relatable. I would definitely buy the drink! Jess.E
