Advertising Via Transport

Hey Everyone,
So I'm concentrating on the advertising on public transport aspect of this campaign.
I've been thinking of different types of transports that contain sufficient advertising room and suitability. Transport is an excellent way to advertise because unlike situated medias, transport is exposed to thousands of people daily, thus becoming a very effect way to increase exposure. So below are image examples of some transports:

TAXIS

TRUCKS
TRAINS

BUSES

PLANES- Outside and In

Oh and also this awesome campaign that I found for advertising London in summer time. Just thought It would give everyone a spin on typical ideas and its very clever.

Please comment adding any extra ideas you may have.

  1. I think these are all ideas that work - we know this from past history. I especially like the drop down trays on what looks like a plan. Clever clever. Maybe we need to consider something a little different like that? Big always works, but I think there may be other ways we can get peoples attention - just like the plane. Maybe we need to brainstorm places that we know people will be for a period time - be it public transport and work from there.

Whos to say that we can't advertise on the inside roof of a train? I havn't seen that done before? I realise there would be some boundries we need to consider and graffiti is a big issue on public transport - but I couldn't give you a dollar for each time I have stared around a train waiting for my destination.

I also took note of your last post on "Summer in London"..and it made me think..maybe if you guys decide to work with the concept of BIG which we know works - be it trains, trams, bus etc we could focus more on the time in which it is being campaigned. Perhaps focus on advertising in Autumn rather than Winter when it's freezing or Summer when i'ts already arrived and people have already booked their holidays...

  2. What about the back of toilet doors, as we know some people do spend a long time in there. I love the Eurostar summer time concept, never ceases to amaze me what people come up with. Mel

  4. Yer I agree with you that trains work, below is a site I found from Japan where they paint the outsides of their trains. The people love it...its interesting, clean, exciting and stops graffiti.

  5. With the Gold Coast being a holiday destination and (supposedly!) somewhere to relax and unwind, I think that targeting the outsides of trains (if that's even possible?) and buses in metropolitan city areas where lots of stressed out city workers with expendible incomes will see it everyday on their way to and from boring old work would be a great location to advertise. Buses would be better as are seen in traffic by more people than trains.

  6. Thanks Melissa, great post with nice examples.

There appears to be general agreement that vehicle wrapping, inside and out, in the CBD areas is a good tactic. Could we please get some idea of what steps are required to get the necessary images (include equipment required) and what timeframe suppliers typically need to produce and install. Business group will commence necessary negotiations with Capital city transport authorities (based on 3 week campaign in July)
